Dr. Casey Chan, MD FRCPC
Dr. Casey Chan completed his Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He then completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Calgary, and General Internal Medicine fellowship at the University of British Columbia. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Internal Medicine (GIM).
Dr. Chan is fluent in English and Cantonese, and conversational in Mandarin. In addition to his passion for GIM, he focused his training in cardiovascular risk reduction, with a special interest in hypertension. He is also completing a Masters in Health Administration through the University of Toronto.
Dr. Siu Him Chan, MD FRCPC
Dr. Siu Him Chan completed his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of British Columbia. He then completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at UBC. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Dr. Chan is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. He is especially interested in providing cardiac services to Chinese-speaking patients as language barrier often precludes these patients from accessing or receiving optimal care. He is an avid volunteer in the Chinese community. He has supervised blood pressure workshops for iCON (interCultural Online Health Network) and UBC medical students. He is also a regular volunteer speaker at SUCCESS.
Dr. Brian J.Y. Fan, MD FRCPC
Dr. Brian Fan completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo, Ontario and his Doctor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He then completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at UBC. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Fan is fluent in English and Cantonese. He is interested in cognitive impairment, falls prevention and promoting healthy aging.
Dr. Manstein Kan, MD FRCPC
Dr. Manstein Kan completed his Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of British Columbia. He then completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology at UBC. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Dr. Kan is fluent in English and Cantonese and simple conversations in Mandarin. He is particularly interested in allergic rhinitis and drug allergy. He is a regular examiner for UBC medical students and international medical graduates wishing to obtain their license in British Columbia.
Dr. Nadine Khalil, MD FRCPC
Dr. Nadine Khalil completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of British Columbia and her Doctor of Medicine degree as well as her Internal Medicine training at the University of Calgary. She went on to completing her Infectious Diseases training at Western University. She is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Khalil is interested in the management of HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and General Internal Medicine. She is also completing a Masters in Education in the Health Professions through Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Andrea K.Y. Lee, MD FRCPC
Dr. Andrea Lee completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of British Columbia. She then completed her Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at UBC. She also has additional training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and completed her clinical electrophysiology fellowship at UBC and Western University. She is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Dr. Lee is fluent in English and conversational in Cantonese. She has expertise in the management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias and implantable cardiac devices.
Dr. Peter Ling, MD FRCPC
Dr. Peter Ling completed his Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of British Columbia. He then completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and then General Internal Medicine fellowship at UBC. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Ling is fluent in English and Cantonese and simple conversations in Mandarin. He is particularly interested in diabetes management and thyroid diseases. He is currently a clinical instructor at UBC. He currently holds a position as Internal Medicine staff physician at Richmond Hospital.
Dr. Michael Luong, MD FRCPC
Dr. Michael Luong completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia and his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Toronto. He then completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at UBC. He also has additional training in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Dr. Luong is fluent in English and Cantonese. He is particularly interested in heart failure and primary prevention. He is also a member of Sports Cardiology British Columbia and has contributed research projects and publications in that area. Dr. Luong firmly believes in the importance of patient advocacy and knowledge translation for both the general public and medical community.
Dr. Raymond Mak, MD FRCPC
Dr. Raymond Mak completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Alberta. He then completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine followed by Allergy & Immunology at UBC. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Allery & Immunology.
Dr. Mak is fluent in English and Cantonese. He is particularly interested in chronic urticaria and rhinitis.
Dr. Luke McLaughlin, MD FRCPC
Dr. Luke McLaughlin completed his Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) and Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of British Columbia. He then completed his Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases training at the University of Alberta. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. McLaughlin is interested in the diagnosis and management of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, as well as General Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Laurenna Peters, MD FRCPC
Dr. Laurenna Peters completed a Baccalaureate in Nursing at the University of Manitoba, and Doctor of Medicine Degree at the University of Calgary. She completed her training in Internal Medicine at University of Ottawa and Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of British Columbia. She is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Her special interests include General Infectious Diseases, Tropical Infectious Diseases, and Hepatitis C. She has an interest in international medicine and completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene through the Liverpool school of Tropical Medicine and has taken tropical infectious diseases courses in Thailand and Peru. She formerly worked in TB Control at the BCCDC. She is appointed as medical staff in Infectious Diseases at Burnaby Hospital and also covers the Home IV program at Burnaby Hospital. She is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Anthony So, MD FRCPC
Dr. Anthony So completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He then completed his postgraduate Internal Medicine training at Queen's University and Rheumatology subspecialty training at the UBC. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He also completed additional training as an ASAS Clinical Fellow at the University of Toronto studying inflammatory back diseases (Axial Spondyloarthritis). He is currently writing his Master's Thesis on radiographic progression in juvenile onset Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Dr. So is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. He is interested in the early identification of inflammatory back diseases, arthritis, and connective tissue diseases to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Petsy So, MD FRCPC
Dr. Petsy So completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Ottawa. She then completed her Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at the University of British Columbia. She is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Dr. So is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. She has completed her PhD degree at the University of Toronto with special interests in cardiac arrhythmias.
Dr. Swetha Sriram, MD FRCPC
Dr. Swetha Sriram completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at Queen's University. She continued her postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Western University and pursued her General Internal Medicine fellowship at McMaster University. She is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Sriram completed extra training in point-of-care ultrasound at the University of British Columbia during her final year of training. She enjoys managing the broad range of medical problems within the scope of General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Stephanie Tsang, MD FRCPC
Dr. Stephanie Tsang completed her Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of British Columbia. She continued her training at the University of British Columbia and completed the Internal Medicine and Respirology fellowship program. She is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Respirology.
Dr. Tsang is fluent in English and Cantonese, and can communicate in simple Mandarin. She is an advocate for both patient and general practitioner education in common respiratory disorders and its optimal management. She currently holds a position as Internal Medicine and Respirology staff physician at Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge. She has particular interests in the diagnosis and management of Interstitial Lung Diseases.
Dr. Davie Wong, MD FRCPC
Dr. Davie Wong obtained his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of Manitoba. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Manitoba before moving to Vancouver to complete his Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of British Columbia. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Wong has special interests in blood stream infections and infective endocarditis. He is currently appointed as medical staff at Royal Columbian Hospital and Eagle Ridge Hospital. He is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at UBC.
Dr. Patrick Wong, MD FRCPC
Dr. Patrick Wong completed his Bachelor of Science with Honours at the University of British Columbia. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Saskatchewan, and then returned to Vancouver to complete his training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the University of British Columbia. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Wong is fluent in English and Cantonese, and can also carry basic conversations in Mandarin. He is an advocate for improving healthcare access, and has been involved with Fairchild TV to raise awareness of common and emerging infections. He is appointed as medical staff in Infectious Diseases at Surrey Memorial Hospital and Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at UBC. His clinical interest includes the diagnosis and management of Hepatitis B.
